Congratulations to Owners Pat and Frank Wismer and Tim Lynch
Recent Black Horse restorations for owners Pat and Frank Wismer and Tim Lynch won top honors in their categories at the Greenwich Concours d'Elegance and Greenwich Concours International in Greenwich, Connecticut on June 5-6 against exceptionally strong fields.
Most Outstanding Closed Car 1925-1936
The Packard Model 733 Town Sedan of Pat and Frank Wismer was awarded Most Outstanding Closed Car 1925-1936 at Saturday's Concours d'Elegance.
The Wismer's Packard has previously been awarded an AACA National Junior First the first time it was shown at Hershey in October 2009. The Packard has also been accepted for the 2010 Concours d'Elegance of America at Meadow Brook in July, and the Louisville Concours d'Elegance at Churchill Downs in October.
The Ferrari 330 GTC of owner Tim Lynch was also selected as Best Italian GT Car 1965-67 by the judges of Sunday's Concours International. The Ferrari was one of many shown, including cars from other top Ferrari specialists. Most notable was a 1954 Ferrari 250 GT Lightweight bodied by Pinin Farina.
The 330 GTC restoration was recently completed and debuted at Greenwich.
Judges participating at the Greenwich event included automotive journalists David E. Davis, Jamie Kitman and John Katz, former NART Ferrari team manager Dick Fritz, restoration specialist Mark Wallach and other notables
Black Horse Garage also exhibited a new display for the first time at the Greenwich Concours, featuring a third restoration as the centerpiece of the exhibit.
The display and twin video monitors showing a tour of Black Horse Garage and demonstrations of the various skills represented within Black Horse-including mechanical restoration, metal work, woodworking, upholstery and trim, paint and finish-provided a backdrop for the stunning black and silver 1959 300SL Roadster.
The 300SL was a non-judged exhibit, being shown for the first time to a tremendous response.
