Mike Muller

Coachwork Artist and second-generation painter

Mike learned coachwork from his father, who owned a premier automotive dealership in the area. He had natural ability and a strong work ethic from a young age, and we're happy that this ASE Certified Master Collision Technician has found a home at Black Horse. He took those skills he learned working with his father and honed them while under the guidance of his uncle, Ferrari coachworker Joe Montatto in Los Angeles.

Just talking to Mike for a few minutes you see that he truly understands the science of paint and bodywork, and has a passion for setting new levels for quality in his own work. Other credentials include being a Chief Certified Master Frame Technician and is I-Car trained.

As technology is constantly improving finishing products, Mike routinely attends classes held by manufacturers so he can get the best result. Product interactions, cure times and application methods, all the variables have to be right for long-lasting, deep paintwork.

What is it about Black Horse that keeps customers coming back year after year?

"Our ability to repair these cars correctly comes not just from our skills, but our passion for automobiles."

Do you have a favorite car in the shop or project you've worked on?

"We have a fuel-injected'63 split-window 'Vette in right now. It's beautiful, and rare, just 400 or so made that year."
