Before Jack had graduated high school, he was already running a foreign repair specialty shop. It was in those early years that he began to build his knowledge of German and British cars. The Italians would come later when he owned his own facility where he would find himself diagnosing tricky Lamborghinis and complex Ferraris, among others.
He's the kind of mechanic we can't do without - he understand that our customers do not park these cars, but drive them as often as they can. Jack works through each project knowing that everything he touches will have to work just as the factory designed it. When it comes to vintage cars these days, true problem solvers are nearly impossibly to find.
What drives your passion for knowledge about these cars?
"Even as a young boy I was mechanically inclined. I began working on small engines at age 11. It was rewarding to take something that was broken and literally fix it with my own bare hands. I loved the feeling of accomplishment after solving a problem. My thirst for knowledge grew as I entered high school and started to work on American made cars, which I quickly mastered. Soon I found myself wanting something more challenging. And so my fascination for European cars began... "
You've worked for yourself and for others before. What stood out to as when you came to Black Horse?
"Over the years I had heard of Black Horse and of their stellar reputation. I was very impressed with the level of commitment that the entire staff has in providing extraordinary service to their customers. I have to agree, that reputation is well deserved. The camaraderie in this shop is truly remarkable! Everyone here is incredibly talented and each team member offers a unique skill set to contribute to the team's success. What do you do when you're not repairing Bosch mechanical fuel injection?
"My spare time is spent mostly with my family: my wife, Carol, my daughter, Olivia and my son, Josh. My children are very athletic and love all sports. Their favorite hobby is riding dirt bikes! We are also avid baseball fans and enjoy going to games. We love taking family vacations and enjoying the beaches of our beautiful Connecticut shoreline."
