Chris joins Black Horse Garage with an already distinguished career in the commercial automotive restoration field, and as a personal mechanic for a well-heeled private collector. His skills have been recognized by judges and happy customers alike for close to 20 years. One highlight is his First Prize DuPont Top Gun Award.
In addition to his ASE Master Certification, which attests to his proven expertise in every area of automotive repair, he holds certifications with the IMACA Education Foundation and Standard Motor Products.
Why should customers feel comfortable leaving their cars in your care?
My goal is to make sure the paint and body work we do will look as good 10 years from now as it did the day the car left our shop. We can deliver these results because we emphasis quality throughout the process - from prepping body panels and sanding, to priming, sanding again, to painting, and more sanding."
There's an art to painting a car, but tell us about the science of it.
"Talent and skill are critical, but the right equipment and knowledge of the chemistry behind the finishing products are just as important. I work closely with our suppliers to have the best paints on hand for each project. We're not interested in running a quick in-an-out production shop, so we can offer products that may take longer to cure, but give much better results than what others use."
