Black Horse Garage clients had another successful showing at Lime Rock's "Sunday in the Park Concours d'Elegance", part of their annual Historic Festival.

Drizzly, foggy skies threatened to dampen festivities in the morning but good weather and good spirits prevailed and the entire event proved a success with a wide variety of machinery taking part. Cars ranged from Brass-Era racing beasts to post-war European classics to modern supercars - and just about anything in between! There were some wonderful cars that appeared and we were very pleased to see every car that lined the race track. Enthusiastic car clubs came in numbers with examples of their treasured machines that ranged from "marque perfection" to "rusty and proud of it"!

Black Horse was proud to have Jim Petty showing his freshly restored 1965 Porsche 356 SC Cabriolet. The car was looking stupendous in its fresh Bali Blue paint with a brilliant red interior. It proved a popular car among the spectators and the judges alike. Most importantly, Jim reported the car ran flawlessly all the way up the twisting Connecticut back roads- no trailer queen here. This well-detailed Porsche earned a 3rd place in class - not bad for its very first time out since restoration! But this is Black Horse and we want to win - so with some further tweaking we're looking forward to more successes with the car in future events (watch for it at the Fairfield County Concours on September 18th). Jim's other car, a stunning Mercedes Benz 190SL, scored a well-deserved first in class. Our congratulations to Jim for a successful day!

Long time Black Horse client M.S. Koly appeared with his stylish and classic 1935 Rolls Royce 20/25 Sports Saloon. This Rolls, with a body by Freestone and Webb, is a point of particular pride for Black Horse Garage since we completed its restoration. It has shown and won and numerous Concours including highly competitive RROC events where every single aspect of a car's operation is checked for perfection. M.S.'s wonderful 20/25 earned 1st place in class 2, "Gatsby's Delights, very special automobiles from 1925 to 1942". Congratulations to M.S. for bringing home yet another bit of hardware! M.S. might need a custom trophy case soon - and Black Horse can make one!
